What’s next for mortgage lenders?

The mortgage industry has been on a rollercoaster ride over the past few years, and although the refi boom has slowed compared to 12 months ago, the roller coaster continues with record home sales.

We spoke this month with some of the best loan officers in the Chicagoland market and learned that the new normal in mortgage lending offers new opportunities. Joel Schaub, vice president of guaranteed rate mortgages, told Chicago Agent that brokers should focus on education rather than stoking fears that their clients will take advantage of low interest rates if they don’t. don’t act quickly. It’s one of many strategies lenders can use to build stronger relationships with their customers, they and other industry players tell us.

We are also focusing this month on a topic that concerns many young buyers and should concern brokers: the issue of global warming. This month’s Real Issues feature includes insights from Emmy-winning science writer and CBS News Sunday Morning correspondent David Pogue. He discusses the impact of climate change on real estate and what it could mean for real estate in Chicagoland, as well as the rest of the country.

Also in this month’s issue, we also hear from the Mainstreet Organization of REALTORS® about the work the group does in advocacy, community work and volunteerism. We also get back to basics with Marki Lemons-Ryhal in this month’s Top Coach column on the value of mastering your CRM.

Of course, we always want to hear your feedback on our coverage. Write to us and let us know how we are going to [email protected]
