Google’s web spam manager Matt Cutts told Advanced SMX tonight that the third version of Payday loan algorithm is launched this week, starting tomorrow.
This algorithm specifically targets “very spammy requests” and is not linked to the Panda Where penguin algorithms.
Didn’t Google update the PayDay Loan algorithm a few weeks ago? Yes, version 2.0 has been released a few weeks ago.
Matt Cutts explained that it goes after different signals. Version 2.0 targeted spammed sites, while version 3.0 targeted spammed requests.
Again, this will kick off tomorrow and will specifically look at spam requests, such as terms like [payday loans], [casinos], [viagra] and other forms of highly spammy requests.
Matt hasn’t clarified exactly what he means by spam sites versus spam requests, we’ll try to get more concrete details on that soon.
